X marks the spot

Took the biopsy needle site dressing off while having a soak in the bath. First reaction was eek what a nasty purply bruised mess. Then realised it was a purply felt pen X done by the radiographer as a guide. Doh!

Stiffness diary.
No tablets now for 5 days.
Friday: Laying around for 6 hours and being brought meals to my bed = no stiffness!
Saturday; Feeling rough and headachey. Slight stiffness in the knees
Sunday: Feeling better. No stiffness apart from legs late evening after sitting on the sofa too long.
Monday: Up early for work shift. No problem. No stiffness. Short walk in the afternoon including some hilly bits. No stiffness later.

  1. Hi Fiona.

I had three dot tattoos for lining me up with the radiation machine, one on my left and right hip and one over my tailbone. The folks running the machine would often use a black felt pen to draw a large circle around each dot to make it easier to find. I figured if they could draw on me so could I.

Halfway through my daily radiation treatments Carla drew a baked potato above my tailbone with the words "Half Baked". Then on my last day of radiation she drew a steak with the words "Well Done". That got them laughing!

Can you show me a color swatch for "purply"? Glad you found some humor in your biopsy experience. Just reading about it made me cringe.

That's great that your work shift went well. And after a nice lazy weekend to boot. You deserve it after that biopsy. Now when do we get the good news from the results?

Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers,
    Steve XX

  2. Hi Steve

Love what you've put on your blog. When I saw you on the bike I thought jeez bet that's sore on his bum!
I'm going back through old photo albums looking for 'proof' for your blog readers that I did indeed have one. Haven't found a photo yet, but the nostalgia is great fun and I get sidetracked.

Biopsy results probably in 3 weeks, but next appt with consultant not til early April. As I have a (cancer) CT on Thurs and a gastroscopy (cirrhosis) the following week I suspect he will wait to give me results of all 3 en masse.

A good biopsy result will be that they find nothing - no variety of active hepatitis at all, zero, zilch.
