A label

I've found the correct 'label' for the variant of Hepatitis B I now finally know I have.

It's Hepatitis B e Antigen–Negative Active Chronic Hepatitis B.

So now ya know! I'll tell my GP next time I see him. Bet he's never heard of it.

  1. Fiona,
Will knowing the exact variant help in being able to treat it more effectively?

  2. Yes it will Carla. I recently looked at some old correspondence from the gastro doctor who my GP first sent me to. He said there was no need to check things like genotype, or viral load, and even told me I had 'cleared' the virus. He got it so, so wrong.
Thank goodness for thorough Dr Al. He has me lined up to be checked out every MONTH for the first 6-months of taking this drug. He really is looking out for me.
Hope Steve is ok at the moment.

  3. Fiona,
I'm glad you have Dr. Al on your team! Steve is hanging in there. He is trying to wrap up his senior project and final classes before graduation. The project he took on has been way more involved than he had anticipated. If it was the only thing on his plate his schedule would be loaded... but that never happens. His recovery from surgery is going well. He just has to survive the next month with school, work, family, church, etc. and things should settle down a bit. I'm doing everything I can to try and lighten his load, but what I can do is limited. The kids are on spring break this week so I'm looking forward to no alarm clocks in the mornings. Have a good week.
