Back to work

Latest lot of blood test results look ok (just one out of range, my immune system, no surprise there).

So back to work today.
See how it goes.

  1. Fiona,
Wow! I've decided I shouldn't neglect checking your blog, things seem to go absolutely insane when I don't. I'm glad you got through all that craziness and wish I could have been there for you. It sounded absolutely awful. I'm glad you are finally feeling well enough to attempt work again. Hopefully you can start feeling much better now that they aren't pumping you so full of pills. I can't even imagine how emotionally draining and frustrating all of this must have been. Life can really throw you some doozies.

The reason I have been off line for the past three weeks is my oldest son just left to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Things were a bit crazy getting him packed up, saying goodbyes to friends and family, etc. He has been completing two weeks of training down in Provo, Utah and should fly out sometime this week to his assigned area in Independence, Missouri. I've been somewhat glad he hadn't flown out quite yet, because they have been hammered with some of the worst blizzards on record back there. Hopefully he won't have to experience any of those until next winter? Anyway, it is kind of strange, but also exciting to have your child be old enough to step out on his own into the world. It is certainly distracting not having him around like I'm used to and having my only means of communication be via email.
Hope you have a really good day. Thinking of you.

  2. My US geography is pretty rubbish Carla but sounds like your son will be a few states away from Utah? It will probably seem like he has gone to the other side of the world til you get used to one less around the house! When mine leaves in September he'll still only be a 40minute train ride away.
Do you have Skype? We use it in the UK to talk via video camera link on the computer to my nephew and niece who have been variously in New Zealand, Australia and now France. Its free as long as both people have Skype.
