While the Tenofovir was busy messing with my kidneys seems it was also tinkering with my immune system response. Dentist has diagnosed an abscess under a crown I had fitted 6 months ago and which had been causing lots of pain since last week. She reckoned that it had flared to coincide with the dip in kidney function, something they often see is a dental problem if the patient is a bit below par.
So today I have the abscess drained and packed and then Thursday a root canal filling, and then fingers crossed no more pain.
I hate the dentist, not personally(!) but I hate being treated at the dentist.
Ah, so sorry to hear you need to get this done. I'm with you on hating the dentist - not personally, but just going in general. Good luck with your appointment, I hope it goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine. I've had the first part done - dentist said the 3 root canals which needed draining and packing were 'tricky' to find as he suspected, but the anaesthetic has worn off now (4 injections, aargh!) and the pain is much less than before. Fingers crossed Part II will go to plan and it will be sorted. Thanks goodness thoughtful hub has driven me there and waited and driven me home again, as I was far too shaky and 'out of it' after the procedure to have been up to driving. Big hug to hub.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this before, dental problems while on interferon treatment for HCV is very common. As there isnt a forum for HBV thats as active as the Nomads forum for HCV I cant compare if its common when on HBV treatment also.
